The Chant
 A Public Response
 Alberta College of Art
Calgary Alberta  1990

This event was a chant and gathering to support a Calgary woman who was attacked in public and to protest the behaviour of witnesses to the attack. Witnesses encouraged the attacker, which we felt required  a public protest to the acceptance of violence against women  in our society.  Students, public and media were invited to take part in
 The Chant.

This event began our activism. It was inspired and incentivized by a need to respond following the shocking misogyny of the Montreal Massacre, December 6, 1989.
Now, 28 years later in 2018, we stand energetically with the ME TOO and TIME'S UP MOVEMENT
